- Roger was born and raised in Dundas, Ontario, articled and practiced as a partner with Ross & McBride in Hamilton, Ontario 1967 - 1990 when he moved to the Wiarton and Owen Sound area.
- Roger has been involved in assisting many community charitable efforts during his professional life. As vice-chair of Wiarton Hospital he chaired the amalgamation process of the area's 5 hospital sites, including the Owen Sound Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, and acted as the amalgamated corporation’s first Chairman of the Board. He has also chaired local Community Living fundraising efforts.
- When not at work or at the Owen Sound Family Y he can be found with his family (he has a wife and 2 children at home). Roger enjoys cross country skiing, snowshoeing, resistance training, bicycling and maintaining his home and gardens.
